Historical Buildings

Although Harrogate was a very small settlement it supported a number of commercial and community buildings as well as private dwellings, all dating from the first decade of the town. The former Bible Christian Chapel (c1859), the former Post Office and Store (c1861), Appleton Cottage and bakehouse (c1857) and the Village Hall (c1861) are all located within the town zone. The Hall has served continuously as a community hall and is considered to be the longest serving community hall in the district.*
