3/1/18
I have graded all of the tests, and entered grades. Go to your gradebook in MyOpenMath to see your grade on Test 1.
Tests will be available for pick-up next week. During regular business hours, please to to the campus where you took your test to pick up your graded test at the locations described here. They are NOT where you took your test. If you took it at Oceanside, go to the 3600 building at Oceanside during business hours (7-4) and ask a secretary to give you your test. If you took it at San Elijo, go to the Administration building at San Elijo, and ask a secretary to give you your test. Review your test and make sure points were added correctly, and that your score in MyOpenMath matches the grade on your test. If you find a discrepancy, let me know about it ASAP. There were 2 extra points possible, so it was out of 102 points.
Congrats to those of you who aced it! If you did not do well, think about what you can do to make a big change regarding putting in more time working and reviewing in order to do better on the next test. The other option is to drop if putting in more time is not an option. The main ingredient for success is time. Quiz 12 is due tomorrow. I hope everyone is caught up!
It is time to schedule your proctored test appointment to take Test 2. I highly suggest you schedule all tests for the rest of the semester now. After you schedule T2, open open the T2 appt date/time assessment found in the Test Info folder, and fill in the info.
The test window dates are: T2: 3/15-3/31; T3: 4/26-5/5; Final: 5/16-5/22
If you are ahead, you may schedule Test 2 before spring break, which is March 19-24. But make sure you'll be ready to take it early if you decide on that option. Otherwise, schedule it for after spring break. Click here for the link to schedule tests with the APC.
3/5/18 Reminders
Q13 is due today, 3/5. Rev10-13 is due 3/7, and Q14 is due 3/9. There are three more assessments due next week, and the test window for Test 2 starts next week on 3/15. Spring Break is March 19-24.
If you took Test 1, remember to pick it up in the 3600 building if you took it at Oceanside, and in the Admissions building if you took it at San Elijo. If you haven't already done this, click here to schedule your appointment for Test 2. It's a good idea to schedule appointments for Test 3 and Final exam right now as well. And remember to open the Test Info Folder to enter your appointment information for each test in T2 appt date/time (due 3/15), T3 appt date/time (due 4/18), and Final appt date/time (5/2) assessments.
3/9/18 Math 30 Test 2 is a proctored, computer test in MyOpenMath.
I will not be working the week of Spring break. If you have questions, ask by next Friday, 3/16, or wait until after Spring break.
Log in to MyOpenMath and see first link for very important info regarding Test 2. You will be taking it on a computer in MyOpenMath during your scheduled proctored test appointment. You'll be using their computers so it is important you know your username and password. The proctor will enter a password during your appointment so you can access the test.
Read the Test Directions document I posted in MyOpenMath for all information. You will only earn credit for correct answers, and the problems are similar to ones you have been doing in the online homework. But you will only get one problem and not try a new problem. However, you may usually try each problem 2-3 times, but there is a penalty for each missed attempt.
I have uploaded a Practice Test in Mod 2 so you can try out how it works.
Q14 is due today, Q15 is due Monday, Q16 is due Wednesday, and the Review 14-16 is due Friday.
For those students that are ahead and want to take Test 2 early, Thursday, 3/15 is the first date possible. Spring Break is March 19-24, so you may take it the week after Spring Break. The deadline is March 31.
3/14/18: PICK UP TEST 1
Happy Pi ( π ) Day!
Since π is approximately 3.14, March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day!
I hope you have started studying for Test 2. Click here for recent announcements. The last assignment for this module is due Friday.
If you want to get your graded Test 1, you need to pick it up by the end of March. Otherwise, it may be discarded. See note above from 3/9/18.
Hi all,
3/26/18
I hope you had a great Spring break!
IMPORTANT NOTE: For the remainder of the semester, Quiz due dates are on Mondays and Thursdays. Start working on the videos this week. Q17 is due next Monday, 4/2/18, and Q18 is due next Thursday, 4/5.
This Saturday, 3/31/18, is the deadline to take Test 2 at your designated appointment time. I highly suggest you do the posted Review and Practice Test I posted in Mod 2. These are not part of your grade. Also, make sure you read the Computer Directions you'll receive when you take your test so you understand how grading works for the online test.
Some students have contacted me to ask if they can retake a test, reschedule their appointment, or to take it at another proctoring site. See below for the info in Test Info.
It is each student's responsibility to schedule each test appointment with the APC at least 2 weeks in advance (the earlier, the better) to get a time/place that works for you--you may do this in person, online or via phone. And it is important you arrange your schedule to be there at that time/place. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH APPOINTMENTS OR SCHEDULING. Contact the APC directly for all questions regarding scheduling appointments, rescheduling, taking tests at other approved proctoring sites, etc. Tests may NOT be retaken, taken late, or made up, but one missed test (or your lowest test score) will be replaced with your grade on the final (if your grade on the final is higher than your lowest test score).
Any of the following ways may be used to schedule or reschedule an appointment with the APC:
