Yusuke Hara is an associate professor at Tohoku University, Graduate School of Information Sciences. And he was a researcher of JST PRESTO (Japan Science and Technology Agency, Precursory Research for Embryonic Science and Technology).

His CV is here (August 2019 update).

His mainly research objective is good understanding of human behavior in urban space. And his current research topics and research interests are travel behavior analysis (human mobility patterns, route choice, decision timing choice etc), mechanism design (mobility sharing, dynamic auction mechanism), future decision-making under uncertainty. These are his main fields and he is studying machine learning, pattern recognition and natural language processing.

His favorite research methods are discrete choice model and statistical methods, however, he like economics (game theory, behavioral economics and experimental economics), mathematical programming (especially network assignment), discrete convex analysis (for auction and matching mechanism)) and machine learning (in particular natural language processes, but he is not familiar :-D ). Hence, his entropy of research interests is increasing.
