OPENINGS

We are hiring Ph.D. and M.S. students with full assistantships to join our research group in fall 2024. Our group's research focuses on computational mechanics of materials to (i) elucidate the underlying physics of materials deformation and failure and (ii) design new materials. Currently, we are working on energy-storage materials for high-capacity rechargeable batteries and stimuli-responsive polymers. Admitted students will be trained to become solid mechanics researchers with expertise in multiscale computations and data-driven modeling.

Admission requirements by the department can be found at https://engineering.usu.edu/mae/students/graduate/apply.  A highly-ranked GPA and a strong self-motivation are essential to be considered for admission. Research experience and/or a Master's degree in mechanics/materials/computational modeling are desirable but not required for Ph.D. admission. If interested, please email haoran.wang@usu.edu with your CV, transcripts, and GRE scores. International applicants should also include their English test (TOEFL or IELTS) scores

Meanwhile, we are looking to hire undergrad researchers to join our research group. We are pleased to support and match funds for their applications for Engineering Undergraduate Research Scholars (EURP), Undergraduate Research and Creative Opportunities (URCO), & Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
