Hans K. Hvide homepage

I am professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Bergen. I am also affiliated with CEPR, University of Aberdeen, and IZA. My main research interests are young firms (entrepreneurship) and behavioral finance. You can find samples of my research here and press coverage here.

I use a combination of economic theory and data (typically, Norwegian register data) to address questions such as "Are entrepreneurs more risk tolerant?" and "How well do individuals hedge (reduce risk) when they make investment decisions?". I have published in leading journals of Economics, Finance and Management. I have developed what may be the first Economics of Entrepreneurship Phd course in the world.
