Participated in the Canadian High Arctic Seismic Expedition as “Artist at Sea” and wrote the daily blog for the voyage aboard CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent. This involved writing about science in a way that the general public could understand. The voyage came within 100 nautical miles of the North Pole. Returning from the Arctic I had two further contracts with DFO to write more about the expedition. Taught playwriting at Dalhousie University for two academic years. Finished a feature magazine article for Above & Beyond Magazine -- Canada’s Arctic Journal.
EXECUTIVE EMPLOYMENT
Artistic Producer of Eastern Front Theatre Company. During my years as Artistic Producer, I produced ten main stage productions, four national theatre festivals of ten shows each, and numerous fundraising events, bringing over fifty productions to Eastern Front. In addition to my artistic and administrative duties, I supervised all marketing for the company. I wrote press releases, web content, television and radio ad campaigns and hundreds of funding proposals to all levels of government and private philanthropists. I appeared on camera in 14 TV commercials on CBC as the company’s spokesperson. Attendance for the company’s productions grew exponentially under my leadership, and its financial situation was much improved. 2002-2006.
