Our Belief About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three dimensions of God are equal to one another and together comprise the existence and character of the one Being.
Our Belief About Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with God the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven's glory and will return again some day to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Our Belief About The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make everyone aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when he/she is saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
Our Belief About The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, with the divine inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the road map by which we navigate life's many obstacles.
Our Belief About People
People are made by God in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the crowning jewel of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This sin separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
Our Belief About Salvation
Salvation is God's gift to us, freely given, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from the penalty of sin. When we turn from our self-centered and self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved.
Our Belief About The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ in the world today. Every member has special abilities (spiritual gifts) in which to serve the body. The local church is an autonomous local body of believers that are under the Lordship of Christ with Jesus at the head. The purpose of our church is to connect people with God and others. This means to connect people with God in worship and a personal relationship of salvation. It also means to connect people in discipleship, fellowship and service. The New Testament refers to the Body of Christ, which includes all believers of all the ages.
Our Belief About Baptism And The Lord's Supper
The New Testament practice of baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. However, if the believer requests baptism by sprinkling, we will honor that request. Baptism through immersion or sprinkling is a symbol of obedience to Christ's command and symbolizes the believer's faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is a requirement of church membership and always follows a personal commitment of faith in Jesus as Savior.
The Lord's Supper is an act of worship that is symbolic and in remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ as the atonement for our sins. The New Testament speaks of our sharing with Jesus in several ways. We share in the crucifixion, death, resurrection, and life. Our lives are in him, and he is in us. The Lord's Supper symbolizes this spiritual reality. The Lord's Supper also reminds us of our future together with Jesus Christ. Jesus said he would not drink the fruit of the vine again until he came in the fullness of the kingdom. Whenever we participate, we are reminded of Jesus' promise.
Our Belief About Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
