Concert Parent Volunteers

Without your help, our Winter and Spring concerts at Hale cannot run smoothly. Please consider volunteering.

Please read over the list of parent volunteer positions and duties. Email Mr. Cruz at jonathan.cruz@lausd.net with the volunteer position you would like to work.

If you commit to volunteer, please arrive on time and plan on staying for the entire concert. We strive to start the concert on time at 6:00pm, and finish around 8pm.

All parent volunteers get front corner seats only while their child is performing as a thank you for volunteering. After your child is finished performing, we would appreciate it if you continued volunteering until the conclusion of the concert. 

Donations Table - Main Entrance: 4 volunteers

• Arrive 45 minutes before the concert begins. We want to open doors as soon as possible. 

  • Plan to stay for the entire concert.

  • Encourage concert attendees to donate as much as possible. 

  • Make sure everyone who donates, writes down their name and donation amount on the log sheet.

  • Make sure if checks are written, they are written correctly.

Snack Table: 3-4 volunteers

• • Arrive 30 minutes before the concert begins. 

  • Plan to stay for the entire concert

  • Set up drinks and snacks.

  • Keep money organized.

  • Keep an eye on the schedule, students who have already performed are allowed to get a snack or beverage.

  • Encourage anyone who wants food to donate. 

Hall, Classroom Monitor: 3-4 volunteers

• • Arrive 30 minutes before the concert begins.

  • Plan to stay for the entire event. 

  • Monitor the Classrooms, Hallway, and Outdoor patio/eating area and make sure there are no students. 

  • Students are not allowed in the hallway, outdoor patio/eating area, or anywhere around campus.

  • Students who are finished performing are either going home, or watching the concert in the MPR.

  • Students inside M170 and M174 are there only to pack up then go home or watch the rest of the concert in the MPR. 

  • Report uncooperative students to the vice principal, principal, or dean. 

Reserved seating Usher: 2-4 Volunteers

• • Arrive 30 minutes before the concert begins.

  • You only need to volunteer until most of the reserved seats are claimed. 

  • Prior to the concert, there will be a separate door for reserved seat entrance. 

  • Once the concert begins, close the reserved seating entrance, and usher reserved seated families from the main entrance / donations table. 

  • Usher families who have reserved seats to their side and row. 

  • Try not to leave the reserved seating entrance unattended. We want families going through the main entrance as much as possible.
