The Greenwood Lake Gaelic Cultural Society was founded by a group of individuals in the Greenwood Lake community in 1975. The society was founded upon the principles of sharing the spirit of unity and fraternity and to promote and foster Irish heritage and culture. These principles were and continue to be very dear to the founding members, many of whom are first and second generation Irish Americans, as well as to the hundreds of members and friends of the association. You can find out more about our logo here.
Activities of the association have included over the years:
Hosting of an annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance
Co-Sponsoring of The Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade
Holding monthly socials for members and friends
Coordinating many community and charitable events
Sponsoring many children’s outings each year
Hosting Irish Night at the Beach in late August
Additionally, the Gaelic Society has embraced and nurtured the two major club activities - Project Children and the Greenwood Lake Soccer Club.
