Ecology of Terrestrial Ecosystems Research Group (GIEET). Ee are interested in evaluating the impact of agricultural management in the Argentine Pampas region on the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems, through the study of soil meso and macrofunal and also key ecosystem processes, such as litter decomposition and the bioformation of soil structure.
We also carry out associated projects, such as the development of a system of biological indicators of soil quality based on edaphic fauna parameters.
The group has developed by occupying a niche around the ecology of terrestrial ecosystems, especially agricultural ones.
The GIEET group is formed by researchers and scholars from CONICET and by UNRC teachers who have been working since 1997 in the Department of Geology, and since 2017 in the Department of Natural Sciences of the National University of Rio Cuarto, Córdoba, as part of an interdisciplinary research group that is carrying out projects in various areas of soil science. We are also dedicated to teaching undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and Geological Sciences, teaching postgraduate courses on biological indicators and soil fauna in the context of sustainable agriculture. We participate in national and international projects cooperating with various research groups. Our research is funded by grants from SECyT-UNRC, CONICET, ANPCyT, DAAD, AECID, UDC, etc.
