Tech Theatre 101
This is my production-tested guide for designed for producers, production managers, technical directors, and anyone else responsible for the technical side of play production. Like other "how-to" theatre manuals it covers the basics of sets, costumes, lighting, etc, but it also includes the organizational and managerial information that many other books touch on only briefly, like script analysis, chairing production meetings and setting up a tech week schedule. The material is applicable to amateur, professional and academic theatre, but will be of particular interest to managers working with limited budgets and smaller tech departments.
The Production Handbook
This manual is for creative artisan-entrepreneurs of any age, background or level of experience who decide to produce and direct a play, either on their own or as part of a larger theatre company. It covers all the aspects of production, but again focuses on what you need to know as the person ultimately responsible for the success of your show (whatever your particular title may be). The book is written in the belief that modern theatre production is something that anyone can learn, do, find financial success with, and most importantly, enjoy.
