Grinder Writing

It's been over a quarter-century now since I first began to write. I write when I can, because I must, expressing things that my subconscious compels me to bring forth. I love to write, and I hate to write, and sometimes I even love that I hate to write and hate that I love to write. It's pointless for me to try and explain it all here. Just read my stuff.

This online portfolio is a showcase of my work, skills and related experience as a writer. I've deliberately chosen to keep it simple and uncluttered, and I know that whatever I'm doing might not be the latest fashion in author platforms, and yes, I'm sure there are things that I could and should be doing to generate more page views, but I'm just not one of those writers. It's just not my style. This site is just me, and my writing.

I've organized my portfolio to best reflect the breadth of work I've done (and continue to do) over the course of my writing career. My Biography and Resume page contains brief summaries of all the highlights, more or less.

Most of my works are intended for the stage, so I've placed my list of plays on the Eric's Plays page on my company's website, in order to avoid maintaining two lists. There you'll find every play that I've written so far (that I feel is worthy of public consumption), organized by length, along with a brief description, genre, casting, and any content warnings. If one of my plays tweaks your interest please email me, and I'll send you a reading copy, and if you would like to produce one of my plays just send me an email and I'll be happy to send you assist you. I'm also open to having any of my plays adapted for the screen, if that's what you're in the market for.

I've done a lot of copy and content writing, and am still available for that type of work, though I'm no longer actively pursuing it. I have plenty of experience creating press releases, newsletters, ad copy, and other marketing materials, and am happy to send samples of my work to anyone who is interested. I'm an experienced blogger, having kept a company blog running for many years, and I still occasionally write and edit blog posts for an organization I belong to. I have written the manuscripts for two novels, both YA fiction, but I haven't had the time to pursue publication opportunities for them. I worked extensively for the now-defunct Helium.com for a few years, writing and editing content for the site, as well as serving as a channel manager for the Theatre and Drama page.

I’ve also written a couple of Technical Theatre Books that you may find helpful if you are an up-and-coming theatre technician or independent producer.

Enjoy!
