I am an Assistant Research Fellow (equivalent to a tenure-track Assistant Professor) at the Institute of Political Science, Academia Sinica. I also hold joint appointments as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at National Taiwan University and an Assistant Professor of Political Science at National Cheng Kung University.
Previously, I was an assistant professor at the Department of Political Science, National Cheng Kung University (2021-2023), and a postdoctoral research associate at the Division of Social Science, NYU Abu Dhabi (2019-2021). I was also a visiting researcher at Washington University in St. Louis in spring 2018 and participated in the EITM Summer Institute at UC Berkeley in 2017.
I received my PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2019. I also hold an MSc in Political Science and Political Economy and an MRes in Political Science from LSE, both with distinction. Before my studies in London, I earned dual BAs in Economics and Political Science from National Taiwan University.
My research uses game theory and quantitative methods to examine media politics in democracies and autocracies, with a specific focus on the information problems faced by dictators and voters. I also conduct projects investigating the underlying causes of political decisions in various contexts.
I am the recipient of the 2022 Kaid-Sanders Best Political Communication Article of the Year Award and the 2024 NSTC Ta-You Wu Memorial Award.
Outside of academia, I enjoy reading (everything with words), travelling around the world, wine and spirits tasting (with WSET training), and watching many kinds of sports.
