Tocoli, Bolivia

We spent 4 days in Tocoli, a small Aymaran village on the shores of Lake Titicaca, near Ancoraimes.

We are greeted by village residents who have an Aymaran welcoming ceremony for us.

Most days lunch was a communal meal of many kinds of potatoes.

Coca plays a prominent role in our visit to Tocoli!

Our sons Alex and Evan were with us during the trip, and enjoyed learning along with the college students.

Calixto led our time at the village, and spent a lot of time explaining Aymara culture and (here) cosmovision). This included a study of Aymaran views of sustainability.

We spent an afternoon of service work, here digging a water holding pond for a ceremonial site.

We learned about Aymara spirituality, and its relationship to Christianity.

Enjoying the shores of Lake Titicaca.
