Call for Papers for Special Issue on Susceptibility Imaging in Neurodegeneration and Aging
Guest Editors: Nan-Jie Gong, Christian Langkammer, Audrey Fan, Pinar Ozbay, Chunlei Liu, Berkin Bilgic
Aim and Scope of the special issue
Magnetic susceptibility is a powerful MRI contrast mechanism that provides sensitivity to para- and dia-magnetic biomaterials such as iron, myelin, aggregated proteins and calcium in tissues. Magnetic susceptibility of the brain evolves spatially and temporally during normal aging and is also altered by disease processes including neurodegeneration. Such changes can be visualized by Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI) or quantified by Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM). This Special Issue aims to provide timely reviews and highlight new research on the applications of magnetic susceptibility in aging and neurodegenerative diseases to facilitate neurobiological interpretations and clinical translation.
The NeuroImage’s submission system will be open for submissions to our Special Issue from 01 Jan 2022. When submitting your manuscript please select the article type “VSI: MR Susceptibility Imaging”. Please submit your manuscript before 30 Nov 2022.
