GO Move-a-thon Planning

Do you like to ”Move it, Move, it”? On Friday, October 2, the GO Move-a-thon will take place and we are looking for community volunteers and content! There are a few ways you can participate:

Movement Based Demonstrations For our community fitness guru's - we are looking for volunteers to lead us through a 10-15 minute movement activity. Some ideas we have are Yoga, Zumba, Line Dancing, Boot Camp, Martial Arts, Meditation, Pilates, Ballet ... but the possibilities are endless! Sign up to lead our kids and families through a low-impact, high-impact or specific skill activity here.

Video Submissions For all of you movers and shakers, do you have a space at home where you move and groove, or maybe a space where you enjoy being active? Perhaps, you have a talent related to movement and/or sports? Or a special trail where you bike or hike? Now, is your time to shine and share. Please submit a video with the following expectations in mind:

The video needs to be less than 1 minute.
Make sure that we can hear you if you are talking.
Be aware of what is happening or can be seen in the background of your video.
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing.
Make sure that your caretaker has seen your video and gives you permission to share it.
If there is music, it needs to be appropriate and we need to be able to hear it.

Please submit your videos to Coach Foott: cheyne@goldenoakmontessori.org. Submissions due by: Friday, September 11, 2020.

We're also including a segment on nutrition because we need energy to fuel our bodies. Do you have an awesome smoothie recipe? Or have healthy eating tips? Consider sharing your favorite recipe in a video, or write it down.

First PTO General Meeting

Community! Your participation helps to drive how our organization engages with one another and supports GO. Join us for our first PTO General Meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 4 pm via Zoom. We are limited to the first 100 participants. The meeting will be recorded and shared for those who are unable to join. We will be voting on a few items, including an emergency by-law amendment, the annual budget, and our fundraising objectives for the year. View the documents here. Bylaws Approved by General Membership

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the PTO Bylaw Revisions were voted and approved by vote of members present at the State of the School Address. 27 Members attended, 20 voted yes, 2 voted no, 5 abstained.
