Golden K Toy Program

The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction Toy Program is truly known Around The World

The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction, Colorado currently distributes approximately 7,000 toys annually. Distribution is monthly to 22 locations in the Grand Junction area, the Chlldren's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, and Shriners Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Toys delivered to Shriners Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City are shared with another Shriners Children's Hospital in Mexico. Our toys also go to a Missionary in South Sudan who gives them to African children who may have never received a toy before. Whenever there is a disaster in the world such as in Japan and Haiti, toys are sent there as well.

The toys include various designs of cars, trucks, animals, boats, and airplanes. Girls especially enjoy the magic wands and the cradles. Lois Kelleher has made in excess of 4,000 sets of blankets and dolls for the cradles.

We sincerely appreciate our sources of wood. They include Alpine Custom Doors, a Truss Company South of Delta, and Mor Storage. We especially are thankful to Mike Kelley, owner of "Your Sign" Company, who provides the stickers that are put under each toy which shows the name and address of our club.
