Research Interests

My primary research interests are in the area of International macroeconomics, Economic growth and productivity, Applied Econometrics, and Banking crises. In my research I use nonlinear models, clustering tools, panel data analysis, and dynamic-factor models.

I am eager to supervise PhD students in various topics but my speciality is in International Macro. I'm especially interested in the following areas: Belt and Road Initiative, Prediction and Modelling of Banking Crises, Effect of E-commerce on Chinese Economy, Digitalization of economy, and Productivity Analysis. POTENTIAL GRADUATE STUDENTS: With Kian Ong, we hope to admit one PhD student working on purchasing power parity and the law of one price to start in the 2023-2024 academic year.
