Indian Blood?

I just got news from my cousin Heather that her name was: Bertha Lee Hammond 1873-1926 she died when my grand mother Willie Timmons Justice was 13

I never heard anything about Indian on the Glover side but I did on the Timmons side as seen below. But here is a link of some Glover's reporting Indian relatives: http://genforum.genealogy.com/glover/messages/384.html

This is Grandma Timmons the mother of my Grandmother Willie Ramey Timmons Justice. I'm trying to find out her full name folks. But the family only listed her as Grandma Timmons on the back of every photo. But this photo has it wrote by hand on the back "She Is Indian"

I'm guessing when the black ink was used to write this she was still alive because it reads She is Indian instead of She Was Indian.

She looks pretty white to me but then the photo is very old.

This is another photo of her and my grandmother Willie.

Grandma Timmons is on the left.

She has features in her face that look Creek to me I always heard she was Cherokee but have found Creek in some Timmons online. But you can see the Indian in her face. Creek and Cherokee were pretty much neighbors they didn't get along well. But I'm guessing some of the same blood at some point crossed.

In this photo you can see grandma Timmons in the top left. I was very happy I found this photo today. You can see the Indian in her without a doubt.

I'm putting these out there in the hope someone can help me solve this puzzle. There is no question she was Indian. She was not a half breed she even had a Indian name. I just no longer have her name wrote down or if I do I'm not sure where I put it.

This is the back of the photo above.

Grandpa Timmons

This is the only photo I can find of him.

There seems to be a double exposure of some other man in the photo.

I'm guessing who ever took the photo it reflected back his image.

Cut and Paste Research Below This Line

Everything from here down I cut and paste off the net that I can find on any Indian heritage in our surnames. Some like seen below are from old forum post still found online.

We have the surname Burton in us Glover's twice once from Joseph Hillary Glover he married Octavia Celestia Burton Glover she was the daughter of Benjamin Jones Burton who was married to Georgianna Elizabeth Clemmons.

We got the other dose of the Burton name from my 7th Great Grandfather William Glover in Virginia who also married a Burton.

7th Great Grandfather William Glover

Born in Longfield, Henrico, Virginia, USA on 1648 to Richard Glover and Mary Booker. William married Martha Burton and had a child. He passed away on 1711 in Henrico Virginia.

One night I ran across a site about some Timmons buried in New Hope Cemetery Oklahoma. The site has some information on a relative with the last name Fawling. Below is a snip and paste of the text taken from the site of people found buried there. I don't know if we are related to this Timmons line or not as I don't have enough information yet. But this site mentions a Susan Fawling being full blood Cherokee and the above forum post mentions a Susan Fawling in Gilmer County Ga. Might be the same person.

"Isaac Timmons & his full blood Cherokee wife Susan Fawling Smith"

The site is located here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~timmons/history.html

Link to more on the Fawling surname in the Cherokee / Timmons side. http://www.genealogy.com/users/h/i/c/James-R-Hicks-VA/BOOK-0001/0031-0013.html

The below text was cut and paste from the this link. I'm not sure if we are related to this Timmons line or not yet. I'm seeing two different Susan Timmons. One below who married a Isaac Timmons one time and then a Thomas Smith the next. She seems to be buried with Isaac Timmons in the New Hope Cemetery in Oklahoma. The other one however mentioned in the forum snip I cut and pasted above I feel like is a different person. The information of the Susan Fawling that person is talking about is mentioned in a free book on Google called

History of the Cherokee Indians and Their Legends and Folk Lore

I have also found a Find A Grave page for Isaac Timmons showing he had two wives at some point.

I found a PDF file online and downloaded it tonight. Here is the link but be sure and read if nothing else page 38 and 39 for a Martha Musgraves. http://digital.libraries.ou.edu/whc/duke/transcripts/T-460-1.pdf

I'm at a bit of a dead end with this until I find out the full name of Grandma Timmons. There is only a few people on the planet that I know might have this. My mother but her mind is slipping she is 80 and if she ever knew this she has forgot it. Her little sister Jeanie or her daughter Heather might know. I doubt any of the other grand kids would have this information. But I think Heather once did a family tree or so I was told. Heather is in Texas somewhere and so is Jeanie.

I'm not sure if this person is in any way linked to us but it's worth the time to look: LYDIA BROOM (TIMMONS) http://genealogyforum.rootsweb.ancestry.com/messages/genbbs.cgi/Irish?print=13025
