Hill to the Courting Tunnel.

Open Access Land:

Landowners can restrict access on Open Access Land up to 28 days a year, but not on Bank Holidays, Christmas Day or Good Friday; Saturdays between 1st June and 11th August; Sundays between 1st June and 30th September; more than four week-end days in any calendar year.

The landowner must tell Natural England beforehand, and the amount of notice depends on the circumstances. Check for authorised restrictions, anywhere and any time, using the CRoW access map: www.bit.ly/checkopenaccess.

Decision of the EGM of The Longdendale & Glossopdale Footpaths Preservation Society.

At an EGM held on 12th January 2018, The Longdendale & Glossopdale Footpaths Preservation Society was formally wound up. The residual assets were donated to The Peak and Northern Footpath Society, and Glossop Mountain Rescue.

A group of ex-members continue to organise the longer Saturday walks as an informal group, and this web site will be used as a means of disseminating information about future walks.
