My Approach

Essentially I believe that therapy can help us to change and transform our lives.

My approach has evolved from the wide variety of training I have undertaken and my general experience in the field of counselling, psychotherapy and personal development. I am committed to the integration of new concepts and ways of working with the more traditional psycho-dynamic and humanistic approaches. Over recent years knowledge about the role our brain and bodies play in our emotional well-being has increased. Mindfulness practice amongst other approaches is a tool which I believe can be helpful to some people.

I work from the understanding that each of us is unique and has our own potential and wisdom to bring about helpful changes in our lives, to solve problems, to discover who we really are, and to live life in a way that is fulfilling and meaningful to us.

Experiences from the past (not only our own past but those of generations which have gone before us - our parents and grandparents) can have a significant influence on how we feel, interact and respond to situations today. If that is relevant to you it may be helpful to understand more about the unconscious legacy that has been passed down to you from the generations who have gone before you.

"Every human life contains a potential, if that potential is not fulfilled, then that life was wasted...." - Carl Jung
