Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason

13 members met inside the Cambridge Blue public house on Gwydir Street.

 ✅✅✅

The book provoked a good discussion about many issues such as relationships with people who have a mental illness.

The author has deliberately not labelled Martha’s illness.  She didn’t want the novel to be known as ‘the one about “…-…“.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

The forecast heavy rain did not eventuate, however the Zoom meeting went ahead, and it was warm and friendly. 10 of us dissected ‘The Paris Apartment’ with ‘enthusiasm’, to try to see why it was such a highly sought after book at the Swindon Public Library😉. It seems this is a very enjoyable light read if you are recuperating from illness, running or commuting, standing in long queues or on a airplane😃. As you can see from the score, this novel will not be our Book of the Year😬
