September 5th Email (Sent to All Races)

Hello Ghost Train Runners!

Now that Labor Day has passed us by and pumpkin lattes are now socially acceptable, it’s hard to believe that Ghost Train is less than 40 days away!

Here is the quick overview of the race you are signed up for:

Your race:

Race Date:

Location:

Bib Pickup:

Race Start Time:

Parking Opens:

Cutoff:

If you know that you can’t attend this year for whatever reason, please email me at ghosttrainrace@gmail.com – a runner from the waitlist will be very appreciative!

Volunteers are critical to providing all our runners with a great experience, and we are always in need of help!  Please see our volunteer page for links to sign up, and there is also a link to learn more about volunteering where you can get all the details for each position available.  Maybe a friend, crew member, pacer, or loved one can take one shift?  If everyone did this, we’d be turning people away, and that would be a great problem to have!  Everyone who volunteers will be offered an orange fleece hat embroidered with the Ghost Train logo as a thank you.

If you are looking for swag, Move Free will have a table at the race offering some of their awesome products, such as sweatshirts, hats, buffs, and stickers.  Ghost Train swag is also available at our Café Press store, which makes a great gift for pacers and crew.  (Just saying!)  If that’s not enough for you, we will be selling our embroidered black fleece hats at Ghost Train again this year for $20, and we have a brand-new item that you will love – to be announced soon.  Keep an eye on our Facebook Group for more details leading up to the race!  (Cash only please!)

Please bring a collapsible cup and/or bowl for beverages and hot broth.  We will have cups available, but we’d love to reduce the amount of waste generated and be kinder to Mother Earth.  Limited supplies of collapsible cups will be available at the race for $5 each.  (Again, cash only please!)

Ghost Train will not be asking for food items to supply aid stations this year, instead asking that if possible, you bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantries.  Items such as gluten free, low sodium, or lactose free foods, as well as personal care, feminine hygiene, pet food, coffee, olives, pickles, nuts, chocolate, cooking oil, snacks for young kids, and various healthy and nutritious foods are especially welcome.
