Hannes Tiedemann, the original owner of Franklin Castle, was said to be a harsh and brash man. It was rumored that Hannes killed his niece, and one of his mistresses. In 1881, his daughter Emma passed away from diabetes. Hannes wife, Luisa, died from liver problems. His mother Wiebke died under mysterious circumstances. In 1908, his son, August, died at the age of 42. Hannes was suspect in the many deaths at Franklin Castle, including three infant children. He passed away while walking in a nearby park in 1908.
In the 70's a man was driving near Cleveland Cemetery, when h. saw an older man standing by the road, quite near the cemetery gates. He stopped his vehicle and offered the man a ride. While driving, the man said, "It has been a hundred years since I have seen my daughter". Much to the driver's surprise, the passenger disappeared. Could Hannes be trying to return to his home?
