GeoGebra is a free dynamic geometry and algebra program, similar to Geometer's Sketchpad, but completely free to all users. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux as well as a couple more exotic platforms because it runs on Java. It is open source, and develops quickly because of that. GeoGebra mobile is close. The current version is 4.0, the next version 4.2 will have a pretty robust Computer Algebra System, and the next iteration 5.0 will have 3-D. That is a lot of awesome.

Let's start by getting the program. Go to geogebra.org.

Recommended: Webstart. This will download the program to your computer as a java file, that updates each time you open it, if the internet is available. Alternatives: Applet Start just runs the program in your browser. Pretty effective, but not as powerful as the full program. The Offline installers are just right for putting on a flash drive, or giving the program to people without internet. The installer makes a fully running app or executable that will ask to update if possible. The structure of the program.
