Feature Article 

    America's ties with subjects of the duchy of Zweibrücken began early as emigrants from the duchy began populating the eastern United States.  The feature article in this issue begins with the translation of an administrative history of the Zweibrücken duchy written in 1822 by Matthew Simon and translated into English.  Part 2 of the article is a compilation of localities within the duchy.  Over 1,500 surnames of 18th-century subjects are included helping you narrow down the place of origin for your surname.     Names of over 250 early emigrants to America are included with places of origin in the duchy.
