GEP has initiated several programs to empower rural people with capabilities and skills that improve their livelihoods. GEP constructed a community nursery and primary school in 2007 to enable specifically the girls and boys in rural areas attain education. The main reason to construct the school was to enhance the education capability among the teenage girls in order to reduce early marriages that where increasing in the rural areas (see our education page). The school currently lacks enough teachers and GEP welcomes volunteers from all over the world to offer both short and long term volunteer services at school.
Volunteering services/opportunities are available in the health projects, environmental programs both reforestation, afforestation and rehabilitation of natural indigenous shelter belts.
GEP has a community Centre with accommodation facilities with the capacity of accommodating over 25 people in both shared and single rooms. GEP also has ample camping space both in the community and GEP forests.
