International Reading Group
In the fall of 2014, George, Yan Bai, and Dan Lu started a weekly workshop with Rochester graduate students interested in international trade and macroeconomics. Students present research at all stages of development with feedback from their peers and faculty. We also discuss frontier research and have guest lecturers through the Ron Jones Fund in International Economics. In the fall of 2017, the reading group officially became a course at the University of Rochester. The workshop is open to all students from the second year and beyond that are taking (or have taken) the field courses in international economics. Several visiting students and faculty have participated. With COVID, we have introduced a zoom element that stretches out the year and allows for some continued participation beyond graduation. Annually, we have about 12-18 participants, most of whom ultimately are supervised by George or Yan or both. Calendar
