Being exposed to actuarial research early on in your career can help enhance your resume/CV in addition to being an intellectually rewarding thing. If you are interested in doing some research, Michigan State University offers a number of ways you can be involved.
Ways you can be involved in actuarial research at MSU as an undergraduate student
REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program.
STT 490 (Directed Study of Statistical Problems), or MTH 490 (Directed Studies), or MTH 491B (Teamwork Experience) under my supervision.
STT 890 (Statistical Problems) under my supervision.
PA (Professional Assistant) positions are available for honor's college students.
