Government Degree College at Bassa (Gohar), Tehsil Chachyot, Distt. Mandi (HP) was notified on Dec. 11, 1997 and was established in the year 1998 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh in response to the persistent demand of the people of Nachan and Chachyot assembly segments. It has come as a boon to the students, particularly girls, who could otherwise ill afford higher education at a distant place. The college is sure to provide a major thrust to the pursuit of higher education in this region. The student strength has shown a very encouraging trend over the years.

Annual prize distribution function of Govt. College, Bassa is going to be held on 25th, March, 2022. M.L.A. Nachan, Sh. Vinod Kumar Ji will be chief guest on this occasion. Prizes will be given to students of the academic session 2019-20 and 2020-21 for their achievements. Function will begin at 11:00 AM.
House Tests will start in the college w.e.f. 8th Feburay, 2022. Students can see date sheet on notice board of the college

Annual Prize Distribution Function of Govt. College. Bassa (Gohar) was celebrated on 25th, March, 2022. M.L.A. Nachan, Sh. Vinod Kumar Ji was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Prof. Surina Sharma, Principal of Govt. College, Bassa gave a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and read the annual report. After that prizes were given to students of the academic session 2019-20 and 2020-21 for their achievements. Many cultural activities were performed by students of the college.
International water day was celebrated on 22nd March, 2022 by N.S.S. Students in the college. 45 volunteers participated in this event and during the event Dr. Netar Verma gave a lecture on the importance of water. Students also collected the littered garbage inside the campus on this occasion.
The N.S.S. Unit of Govt. College Bassa conducted an interview with Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur on 23rd March, 2022 along with NSS volunteers of the state through online mode. Anurag told the volunteers of the N. S.S. units of the state about the sacrifice of the youth given in the martyrdom day and also told the volunteers about recognizing the goal of their life. After that Martyr Day was celebrated in the college. A seminar was organized on the occasion of Martyr's Day in which the main speaker was Prof. Jaya Thakur of the college. She told the volunteers about the contribution of the brave hearts towards the nation. After this, the teachers and volunteers of the college paid tribute to the brave hearts of our country.
