This would be a really nice vav to step down into.

However the ASI has locked the entrance so one can only peer down the well-shaft.

At the surface level, only ruined walls are seen and a visitor wonders if he has arrived at the wrong place.

Closer up, the depths of the vav become visible.

While the surface level of the vav had four rooms, the first underground level has eight,

surrounding the well-shaft with large, balconied windows looking inwards into the shaft.

The balconies are topped by richly embellished stone carving.
