September 10th

  • We will be having an ATV Safety Training class on Sunday Sept. 10 at 1pm in Bellechester. The class is now for kids ages 6-15. However, for the kids ages 6-10 a parent must remain with them the entire time and their certificate is still not valid until they turn 12, so it does not change where they can drive until 12 years old.
  • To register for the class please e-mail Paula Wagner at  pwagner@sleepyeyetel.net. The class is limited in size, so please register early.
The state law states: Anyone born after July 1, 1987, who is 12 or older, must have a valid ATV safety Certificate to operate on public lands, trails, and frozen waters and when crossing rights-of-way.
As of July 1, the legislation allows Minnesota youth ages 6-10 to take the course also. The reason for that change is the 2 age groups where accidents rates have increased is: kids under 10, and adults over the ATV safety requirement.
