My professional goals are to become licensed in the state of Illinois and possibly Georgia. The licensure and certifications I intend to obtain are the NCC, LPC and LCPC. In addition, I intend to take post-graduate classes in trauma and become certified as a trauma specialist. I hope to one day be in a position to volunteer with the Red Cross as a counselor for disaster relief.

It would be my greatest pleasure to be able to counsel those who have served our country in the military and now require mental health services. I would especially like to counsel women veterans who are suffering from military sexual trauma, depression, addiction, and ptsd. I have the greatest respect for our service women who have given so much to serve. Being able to help and guide them to emotional well being and assist them in gaining balance in their lives would be a privilege. Advocating for our veterans whether it be in new legislation or in the community to help those who have ended up homeless would be a responsibility that would be incredibly meaningful. In addition to my graduate training, I will participate in training for EMDR, and coursework in addiction counseling.

After obtaining full licensure, I would like to go into private practice and counsel veterans and others who are in need of trauma or crisis counseling.
