Student Comments for Economics 482

Spring 2008 EC 482-001

Generally a good and interesting professor, but I sometimes get the idea he hate us all (in attitude, not in assignments or grading).

This course was one of the most entertaining and challenging courses I've ever taken. It is nice to know BS doesn't always work :) Hoover is a...tough teacher...but that's what drives students to do better. Great class, great teacher.

Some of the topics in this course should be talked about longer.

Good instructor.

Asshole is spelled with two esses. G HOOV is the man.

This was an excellent class to pull together everything learned in econ and apply it to current econ issues. It also provides a large amount of info on current econ issues. The only suggestion is a structure for position papers given at the beginning of the semester would help students be able to focus on the issue.

This course was different in the fact that it dealt with the student's discussions, with the teacher only being a mediator. But the instructor was excellent and I have learned more from the class then expected.

The best economics course I've ever had taught by the best economics professor I've ever had in the four years at this university.

Dr. Hoover handles this class very well. It is interesting and enjoyable to come everyday.

He definitely has a different style of teaching, but he is one of the best professors I have had at the university. You cannot help but learn a lot in his class.

Dr. Hoover is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. If he were a woman, I'd try to marry him.

Dr. Hoover, although very unique in his style of teaching was very effective. The class addressed several interesting issues that lent themselves very nicely to lively classroom discussions.

Thank you for your willingness to teach this class. I'm sorry our effort has been a little lacking.

This course has a lot of potential. It provides a great opportunity for students to improve their writing skills. However, more input from the instructor regarding writing would be helpful. Also the instructor sometimes seems less than prepared. Overall a good class.
