ADplot is the end result of a developmental process. It evolved from two indexes, the Gait Graph Deviation Index and the Gait Graph Asymmetry Index, that were created in earlier stages of our research to summarize gait graph information. These two indexes are the basic elements that were combined to form the ADplot.
A detailed presentation of these elements is included in this section.
The understanding of the GGDI and GGAI creation methodology is very important for everyone that needs to use the ADplot for clinical or research applications.
Thus an effort was made to show a step by step presentation of the required procedures.
Although Gait Deviation Graphs and Gait Asymmetry Graphs are not necessary to be created for the implementation of the ADplot, they are presented for better understanding the concept behind the indexes.
These Graphs are showing the series of instant Deviations and Asymmetries and the respective Normal Standard Deviations that are summarized by the calculated indexes.
Finally in this section you may find the results of the properties assessment of the GGDI & GGAI and some references of the limitations that have to be considered when using the indexes.
For the implementation of the ADplot there are some steps that have to be performed to prepare the classical gait graph data for the creation of the required type of ADplot. These steps are described here.
