I was talking with a friend of mine about Einstein's theory of relativity. So, I decided to write about it. Instead of explaining to you how relativity works, I am going to try and confuse you. Once you feel thoroughly confused, feel free to leave a comment at this address http://gabkdlly.livejournal.com/146694.html, telling us how this is all wrong. Thanks !!
Consider this Triangle:
.A
.B .C
A spaceship travels from A to B. At the point A, the spaceship shoots a photon of light away from the ship. At some time after, the spaceship arrives at point B, and the photon arrives at point C. So, we measure the distance between B and C, and find that it is one light-second long. So, all the people on the spaceship conclude that one second has passed. At the same time, to us it looks like the photon traveled from A to C, a distance that is longer than the distance from B to C ( why ?? ), so to us it looks like more than one light-second has passed. How can this be ?
