All, We have invited Dr Law to come visit us September 14
Let's jot down mind boggling questions we have for him here...
- Debate on the "heavenly reward" system - what's the point of being a faithful servant?
- Is there hierarchy in Heaven
- What will we be doing in Heaven
- "Justification through faith" - whose faith? Jesus, men, or God the father?
- Is salvation just a state? For example, you have to remain "in Christ", in order to be saved.
- Why Christianity doesn't seem to work? On personal level, living still sinful; among churches, division; among theologies, endless arguments; on Bible, endless interpretations. And let's face it, there're so many heartbroken ex-pastors.
- God told me to be atheist. How do I respond to that?
- What's your view on creation vs evolution? Should we take Genesis literally? Personally I feel that there are no conflict between Christianity and evolution, if we consider Genesis to be interpreted by the authors, some kind of poetic language. Should we really believe Earth is just a couple thousand years old?
- How strongly is bible condemning homosexuality? Is there a chance that it's just our interpretation, and after some decades church in general will accept homosexuality? How can we guarantee our current interpretation is not wrong? A couple hundred years ago the church believed the Earth is the center of the Universe, and now it's proven to be wrong.
- Where can we find the minute of Synod of Hippo of 393 AD that produced a list of texts equal to the 46-book canon of the Old testament and to the 27-book canon? In particular, what had been debated and why they came up with those conclusions? Who made the final decision? The king or is it a vote?
- Should we pray to God the Father only, or can we pray to Jesus and the Holy Spirit too?
