Adelaide PhD Summer Institute
I am the co-organiser of the Adelaide PhD Summer Institute in International Trade. This conference was hosted by the University of Adelaide in February 2017, in March 2018 and March 2019. Its objective is to provide PhD students in this field with a platform for discussing their ideas with both fellow PhD students and senior scholars. Each student will be given at least 45 minutes of presentation and discussion time. Students are not required to present an already completed paper or paper draft, but may also report on the progress of their research strategies. It is also an objective of the PhD Summer Institute that students receive feedback at an early stage of their PhD project, and consequently PhD students of all years are strongly encouraged to participate. Both theoretical and empirical research in international trade is welcome.
Unfortunately, the 4th Adelaide PhD Summer Institute in International Trade that was supposed to take place on March 18 and 19, 2020, hosted by the University of South Australia, Adelaide, had to be cancelled because of the Corona crisis. We are hopeful that the PhD Summer Institute in International Trade will resume in 2021.
PhD students accepted for presentation at the PhD Summer Institute were also accepted to attend the Australasian Trade Workshop that was supposed to be hosted by the Australian National University on March 21 and 22, but this event had to be cancelled as well.
