Our first...

On holiday in Zwitserland.

The helmet painted black...

Story: Up to november 13 the motorbike was used.In summer it was no problem ,but it was indeed in the period that farmers harvested sugarbeets ....; A visit would be brought at the parents in Noord Groningen. The small roads were very slippery by the mudd of the claygrounds of het Hoge Land. Both sidebags were full of all kinds of stuff including a cristal pot ...In a split seccond the g.o.m slipped.Tens of meters further he stopped near the road .As by a myracle the pot sat on the good side and was still complete! The farmer immediately offered to compensate the damage .The damage, fortunately , was restricted to a declined footrest. The cristal pot is still in possession of the family.

Year of manufacturing: "People" said that the motorbike was manufactured in 1945 in the BSA factories in Birmingham UK. For a long time we thought this was correct. Up to the moment ,that we contacted the factory to retrieve time of birth more exact.

A certain mister Harper just could gess.( see mail from Birmingham) The archives were partly destroyed during the war so they could not say which day exactly the bike was made. It Appeared that it left the factory around may 1940 .So that was 5 years older than we expected!

to be continued...

This is "the good old motorbike".
