Frédéric Aubery

I am an economist with over twelve years of experience conducting research, impact evaluations, and policy analysis for governments, international organizations (World Bank, UNHCR), and non-profits (CARE International), along with hands-on experience in policy implementation. My research interests include labor economics, education economics, and the economic life of refugees.

I have broad experience designing and implementing surveys, from household surveys to school and firm surveys, as well as conducting fieldwork in fragile contexts such as refugee camps in Chad. In Senegal, I’ve led an impact evaluation of a program dedicated to improving the transmission of skills to apprentices in the informal handicraft sector. Following a cohort of around 6,000 apprentices over three years, the findings show that the program improved the transmission of technical skills from master craftspersons to apprentices and increased retention in training.
