I represent myself as an Independent thinker and a Financial Economist. I teach Finance and Economics, while patiently attempting to also grow as an entrepreneur. I willingly engage in multidisciplinary research activities.
I have always preferred being in a Business or an Applied Economics program because I do not fit the Micro/Macro divide of typical economists, and I feel uncomfortable with analytically reductive approaches associated with issues concerning new and emerging markets for which I have a practical interest.
Wealth creation behaviors (even survival behaviors) seem to be consistent responses to incentives and not just characteristics of particular groups. I consider a logical and quantitative articulation of the contribution to value creation, or articulation of risk management to be the end goal of my participation in most projects.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Kansas State University with International Economics (Monetary and Financial) and Econometrics (Panel data) as fields.
Before Kansas State, I was fortunate to be a student in two elites programs in Africa:
The Joint M. Phil. program in Economics (Monetary) of the University of Yaoundé II and the PTCI of CREA (Council of Research in Economics in Africa).
The M.Phil. in International Relations (International Banking and Finance) of the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon (the school of foreign affairs in Cameroon).
A Cert. in Artificial Intelligence, Implications for Business Strategy from MIT Sloan.
I came to the US thanks to the Fulbright Scholarship in June of 2000. I value participating in the governance, and learning in the communities where I live, and also value being able to contribute to understanding wealth creation for individuals, corporations, and communities.
I have taught full-time at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, Bryant University in Rhode Island, and Framingham State University in Massachusetts.
In my new corporate venture Boston Insights and Analytics, I attempt to give a scientific and corporate approach to data-based solutions of complex social problems.
