U12 County Champions!

Well done to the U12 team and management on a great win in the U12 county final yesterday (Friday 12th September) in Athleague. The lads gave a great display of skilful hurling from the start with first half goals by Dara Finneran and Sean Trundle giving us a commanding half time lead of 2-4 to 0-3. We further built on that lead after the break with 4 excellent points before Padraig Pearses responded with a goal. Pearses comeback was short lived though and Four Roads defended brilliantly. Some exceptional high fielding by Adam Donnelly in full back coupled with clearances that were reaching the full forward kept the pressure off. Another great passage of play was a clearance by Sean Trundle under pressure from the half back line. He chased the clearance and won the ball again – and after a brilliant run through the Pearses defence – his superb shot on target was denied by the crossbar. A goal by Mikey Lohan in the last 5 minutes sealed the victory on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-3. This was a great team display with every one of the players contributing to a great win. There was some particularly outstanding individual performances by Kyle Kelly and Adam Donnelly in the backs, man-of-the-man Trevor Fallon in midfield with Ruaidhri Fallon and Sean Trundle and Dara Finneran in the forwards. Well done lads, ye did the club proud.

Thanks also to the large number of Four Roads supporters who were there to cheer the team on!
