CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

Community is very important to our Fort Industry Chapter.  Below you will find a number of
things our chapter has participated in to promote our DAR mission.





Our chapter held a Wreath Laying Ceremony for a Revolutionary War Patriot.                    
                                     








Anita Sanchez-Serda, Director of the Sylvania Area Family Services, was presented a $3,000 Special Projects Grant for the agency's after-school program to purchase Google Chromebook computers, a docking station and headsets.


Our chapter holds our annual fundraiser with a White Elephant Auction, Officers Silent Auction and a Christmas Luncheon each year.



Our 2017 Community Service Award was given to Ken Leslie who started the program, Veterans Matter, an organization that provides deposits to house homeless veterans and their families.





Cleaning supplies, Kleenex, Ziploc baggies, etc. were collected for our adopted Community Classroom for our 2017 DAR Service to America Day.                                       


 
      








Christmas cards are signed and distributed  to veterans and active military through our local Red Cross.



                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
As part of the Community Classroom Committee our chapter has adopted a local classroom donating school supplies to begin the year.

Our chapter donated items from the "Wish List" of the Bethany House, a long-term transitional shelter for victims of domestic violence and presented them to Deidra Lashley, Executive Director. 
















Our chapter attends monthly naturalization ceremonies in the Toledo area.
















Through the DAR's National Defense Committee our chapter awards the Bronze ROTC Medal to a student cadet for outstanding ability and achievement in high school and the ROTC programs of the Commodore Perry Division of the Naval Sea Cadet Corp.
