Brief History of Clan Ivanovich
Clan Ivanovich was formed in Mirros when a freeman named Bogdan Ivanov impregnated Magda, the eldest daughter of Clan Marilenev. In order to head off a scandal, the Marilenev's elevated Bogdan to landed gentry and quickly married him to Magda before she gave birth. At the death of her father, Magda inherited clan Marilenev with Bogdan Ivanovich as her consort and the Ban of Marilenev, the head of the military and governor of the lands.
Several years later, Bogdan Ivanovich declares himself King of Traladara with his wife's backing. He manages to bring under his heel several clans, but the kingdom dissolves at Ivanovich’s death. Magda and the children flee west in exile as her younger brother allies with Ivanovich's enemies to secure Mirros and the Marilenev lands.
As the son of a former King, Bogdan and Magda's son Demyan squires to Lord Koriszegy of Koris. Demyan distinguishes himself during an assassination attempt against his Lord and is given a small fief outside the city. He builds Ivanov Keep on these lands and is made a Knight Bannerman. For four hundred years, there is little of note to distinguish any of the Ivanovich's. They serve the Koriszegy's faithfully through the Traladaran Wars and into the Vampire Wars.
When Koriszegy Keep is besieged by a Vampire Host, Sir Maksim Ivanovich runs the defense of Koris while the current Lord Koriszegy seeks any aid he can. Late one night a storm from the coast hits the town hard. In the ensuing maelstrom, the vampire army retreats and Koriszegy Keep falls. The city defenders swear they hear blood curdling screams on the wind before the keep falls. Those inside the keep's walls are never heard from again. Claiming witchcraft, Sir Maksim leads the survivors of Koris back to Ivanov Keep and founds the town of Luln, declaring himself Baron. Luln grows to become a fortified town, trading with Halag and Demiv to the south. They are nominally part of the Imperial Province of Traladara, but pay little lip service to their Imperial Masters in Specularum.
Demi-humans and bandits from the Cruth Valley head east and attack small settlements and houses that are allied with Luln, occasionally making camp in the ruins of Koris for strikes against Luln. The current Baron as of AC 970, Vanko Ivanovich allies himself with Duke Stefan Karameikos. He is hoping for closer ties to this new government to bring civilization further west.
