Miss Irene is the owner and artistic director of Footworks Dance Academy. With 30+ years of teaching and choreography experience, a Teaching Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dance, Bachelor of Education Degree, a Member of the International Academy of Dance Adjudicators and the President Alberta Dance Educators Association and 43 years of dance training, Miss Irene comes highly qualified. She makes sure to keep updated with the latest in dance by attending various dance conventions and master classes in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Phoenix, and even here in Alberta. She has published her S.T.E.P. Program for dance teaching preparation and has presented the program to various schools all over Alberta at the Alberta Dance Educators Association. She organizes a dance teachers convention, Team Motivate, for dance teachers all across North America to attend through the ADEA. Her students have won several awards, as has her choreography. She has four girls, a small group in the dance world, a wonderful husband and 2 adorable grandbabies, Olive and Opal, and her dog “Luna” that travels with her on all her dance adventures! Miss Irene is very proud of all her dancers and is looking forward to another exciting year with all her dancers.
Miss Keanna began dancing at the tender age of birth! This was her fourth year of teaching at Footworks. She had the privilege of teaching Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theater and Acrobatics this year and thoroughly enjoyed her students. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Musical Theater, Hip Hop and Contemporary. She has had the opportunity to dance in New York, and L.A and even performed on Carnival Cruise lines as well as the Dominican Republic and Mexico. She always attends dance conventions regularly and has had the privilege of working with some of the world’s best dancers and teachers. Presently Miss Keanna has her Teaching Certification with the A.D.A.P.T Teacher Training Program and entering into the CBTS Teacher Program with the Royal Academy of Dance. Miss Keanna brings a warm spirit to her classes and looks forward to teaching even more next year!!
Mr. Scott has had a passion for the Arts since he was a child. Although he has studied other arts such as Jazz and Contemporary, his specialty is Hip Hop. He has choreographed pieces for the Mt. San Jacinto College in California, and has been involved in local performances and showcases. One of his highlights in his dance career was winning the 2014 K-Pop World Festival Competition in Houston Texas. He is a talented musician, energetic coach, and a world traveler! He encourages all of his students to pursue their passion, and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and Hip Hop style with them this year!
