My other career

In September 2024, my debut novel De heks van Gottem (The witch of Gottem) was published by Lannoo Publishers. My historical novel tells the story of Anna De Coninck (1550-1603), popularly known as Tanneke Sconinckx, from the Flemish agricultural village of Gottem. She lived in a crazy time with a hopeless war, religious disputes that split small village communities in two and the plague that regularly wreaked havoc. And with a worldview in which there was room for black magic. Which becomes very concrete when Anna herself is accused of witchcraft. Oh yes, Anna De Coninck is my great(x9)grandmother.
