Research overview

My research focuses on the social behaviors and vocal communication of primate species, mainly great apes and humans (babies’ cries). I primarily investigate the structure and function of vocal signals. My aim is to decipher their acoustic communication systems studying both the emitter and receptor sides and to identify specifically how the social environment may influence them. I also study the vocal turn-taking in great apes developping a compartive approach. I use an integrative approach combining acoustic analysis, experimental tests and observational studies in both captive and wild populations.
