Journeyman Training

The Journeyman Classes and Exam are given at least twice a year, generally in December and during the summer. Once you have completed your Journeyman Training application, you can pick up the Training Manual at the IATSE Local 835 business office.

The classes cover:

• Day 1 - Measurement, Floor Marking, Carpet

• Day 2 - Specialty P&D, Intro to Stagecraft, Graphics, Convention Rigging

• Day 3 - Metal Systems

• Day 4 - I&D

The 100 question Exam is given the afternoon of Day 4. It is time limited to

2 hours and 30 minutes.

A passing grade is 80%.

Journeyman Training Manual

When you complete and return your application for the Journeyman Training Classes to the IATSE Local 835 Training office, you can pick up a copy of the Journeyman Training Manual. A $20 fee is required for a hard copy of the manual.
