Students will receive email invitations from Fleming Island High if they qualify to apply. Students not attending a CCDS public school will be able to access a link to the online application below. Please read the admission requirements before applying. The application must be completed correctly and in full in order to qualify.
Admission Requirements
Students applying for admission to the University of Cambridge International Examinations Advanced International Certificate of Education program must meet all of the following preliminary requirements:
1. FAST ELA and EOC Math scores must indicate high achievement
2. Non-public school applicants must score at the 85th percentile or above in Math and Reading on a nationally recognized standardized test
3. Students must have taken Algebra I Honors* or Geometry Honors* in 8th grade.
*Online courses in this subject must be a year long course and must be finished in time to take the Algebra I End Of Course exam before school begins in August. FLVS scores must be provided. EOC scores must be a high 3 or above to remain eligible.
4. Grades of A or B in all core academic subjects
5. No serious discipline record or chronic absenteeism
6. Completion of the application, following all directions.
7. Input from Junior High teachers will be considered if needed
End of Course information:
Students must score a high 3, 4, or 5 on the Algebra I or Geometry EOC to remain eligible for the AICE program. Students scoring lower on these exams could be removed from the application/selection process.
Private/Homeschooled/Virtual School/Out-of-State Students please read:
Students who have not been in a Florida public school will be required to take the state Algebra I or Geometry End of Course exam and meet the score requirements to remain eligible. It also must be taken to fulfill a state graduation requirement. Students who are not in a Florida public school will need to contact the public junior high that your student is zoned to attend and ask to take the Algebra or Geometry End of Course exam at that school in the spring.
If the AICE Program is offered at your zoned high school you must attend your zoned high school.
If you are currently out of state or attending a private school in the area and currently live or are moving to the area you are encouraged to apply.
The application will be made available January 13th.

February 11th: Acceptance emails sent
