FAQ’s:
1. What is the Number of Members and Dock spaces at Fishcove Association?
Answer: The association currently has 38 total members and dock space (Docks and Moorings) for approximately 21+/- Boats, depending on size, etc.
2. How are Dock Assignments made?
Answer:
All spaces are assigned by the Board Dock Chairperson according to our ByLaws ( Please see the ByLaws and Dock Rules which can found on our website ) : www.fishcoveassociation.info
In general, association members with Seniority (those owners who have been paying Full Member/Dock list level dues over the longest period of time ) are given preference (again please read our ByLaws).
In any season, consideration is also given to ALL "Dock Seniority List" members depending on who has their boat in the water, When.
In other words, as neighbors and friends we cooperate and communicate with the Dock Chairperson, so that those who may not be as high on the Seniority list, can still get a space for a time limited period; if another member has their boat in/out of the water, typically early or later in the season.
A "Wait List" is created by the Dock Chairperson which is variable/dynamic, on a day to day basis. This keeps track of those who have Seniority over you, that are in the water already, but may pull out and allow others (those lower down on the Seniority List) to put their boat in the water for a Time Limited Period (as soon as possible).
Also, over the years, a few of the members, who have paid to maintain their property's rank on the Seniority List, have been inactive and have not put their boats in the water. This has allowed for others, lower on the Seniority list, to get a space sooner. There are no guarantees what those who are currently inactive, will do and their future choices. But, if higher ranking members are Out of the water, then TIME LIMITED use is available for other Full Members, that are Lower on the Seniority List. Again, we all stay in contact with the Dock Chairperson, so he can coordinate usage and allow access to as many Seniority List members as possible, when space becomes available.
Thus, while new members, who join the Seniority List and start at the Bottom of the Seniority List, may not get an assigned space for the entire season, during their first few years, they may still get a mooring and/or dock offered to them for a Time Limited period; Typically getting some access early and/or late in the season.
3. Are there Other places for Boats?
Answer:
A. Our "Day Dock" is also available (with a 20-minute parking limit) for loading and unloading passengers.
B. Additionally, small watercraft (canoes, kayaks, etc.) can be accommodated on the shoreline or on our canoe racks.
4. What is the Current Availability?
Answer: ALL dock spaces and moorings are generally completely full during the peak season. (see #2 above re Wait List)
5. Each year, what is the Dock Space Turnover?
Answer: Over the long term, availability for Seniority List members is driven by number of boats put in each year, and various people moving in/out of the neighborhood. Generally there is some movement "up the list" (maybe one, perhaps two spaces) in any given year or two.
6. What are the fees for a "Partial Member" (non-dock/boating member)?
Answer: ALL Members currently must pay the minimum of $250 yearly per lot.
7. What are the additional dues for a "Full Member" (to be placed on the "SENIORITY LIST" for Use of the docks and Mooring)?
A. In addition to Regular Partial Member Dues, currently an additional yearly fee of $250 ($500/year), plus the One Time Special Assessment for the 2017 dock upgrade of $400, per each lot, if not already paid is due.
8. What is the $2000 initiation fee?
A. Nearly All Properties have Already Paid this One Time Fee in previous years, and it is $0, once it was paid (that one time).
